Follow The Directions

01

Step

Preheat grill to medium heat. (5 minutes)

02

Step

In a small bowl, whisk together the ketchup, dark brown sugar, molasses, apple cider vinegar, garlic powder, liquid smoke, salt, pepper, and cayenne pepper. Set aside this Kansas-Style BBQ sauce. (5 minutes)

03

Step

Place potatoes, carrots, and Brussels sprouts into a 9-inch cast iron skillet. Arrange chicken thighs on top of the vegetables. Using a pastry brush, generously brush the Kansas-style BBQ sauce onto the chicken thighs. (10 minutes)

04

Step

Cover the cast iron skillet tightly with a sheet of Reynolds Wrap® Non-Stick Foil, ensuring the non-stick side faces down, directly on top of the chicken. (2 minutes)

05

Step

Place the cast iron skillet onto the preheated grill and roast for 25 to 30 minutes. Then, carefully remove the foil and continue roasting for an additional 15 minutes, or until the chicken is tender and its juices run clear, or until a meat thermometer inserted into the center of a thigh reads 180 degrees F. (40-45 minutes)

06

Step

Remove the skillet from the grill and allow the chicken to cool for approximately 20 minutes before serving. This allows the juices to redistribute, resulting in a more flavorful and tender dish. Serve and enjoy this delightful grilled creation! (20 minutes)

For a deeper smoky flavor, consider using wood chips in your grill.
Feel free to substitute your favorite vegetables, such as bell peppers, zucchini, or onions.
If you don't have a grill, this dish can also be made in the oven at 375 degrees F.
Ensure the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165 degrees F for optimal safety and flavor.
The resting period is important for juicy chicken. Don't skip it!
