For a deeper flavor, try roasting the carrots instead of steaming. Toss them with the glaze and roast at 400°F (200°C) for 20-25 minutes, or until tender and slightly caramelized.

Freshly grated ginger provides the best flavor, but ground ginger can be substituted in a pinch (use about 1 teaspoon).
